Our Energy Champions volunteers run regular Energy Cafes in Ilford. These offer an informal, friendly way to give energy saving advice to people struggling with fuel bills. People can talk about the issues they have and are offered and get information on:

  • Saving energy and money by changing their fuel tariff or supplier,

  • Taking simple actions to make their home more energy efficient

  • Financial help they may be eligible to get.

The Energy Champions will be providing guidance and advice, supported by a trained Energy Supervisor.

As well as a regular slot in the Library, the team of volunteers would love to run Energy Cafes in venues all over Ilford, for example, at Food Banks, places of worship and community centres, in fact, anywhere people gather. If you would like to invite the cafe to your venue, then contact us by email: ilfordtransition@gmail.com

Reducing energy bills

We can help you to reduce your energy bills and keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

Many of us struggle to keep home temperatures at a comfortable level, especially when our energy bills keep going up.

Many households in Redbridge are in ‘fuel poverty’ – which essentially means they have to make the financial choice between heating their homes or putting food on the table. With energy bills going up, the number is only set to rise further.

We are committed to reducing this as much as possible.

So far, we have provided support to almost 100 individuals and homes. And we are committed to help even more households to save money on their energy bills.
